$2 Million Settlement for Plaintiff Injured when Rear-ended by Charter Bus
St. Louis, MO charter bus crash settles for $2 million. Page Law recently settled a St. Louis charter bus crash for $2 million on behalf of his injured client.
The crash occurred in a construction zone on highway 270 in St. Louis, MO. The charter bus was carrying a college baseball team when it rear-ended Plaintiff’s car in the construction zone.
The case was filed in Federal Court in St. Louis, MO. Plaintiff was from MO, and the damages claimed were in excess of $25,000.
Plaintiff alleged the charter bus company hired an incompetent bus driver and they failed to train and supervise the driver as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR). In addition, it was uncovered during the case, that the bus driver was taking medication at the time of the crash that he had not disclosed during the medical exam required for a commercial drivers license (CDL). Plaintiff was also able to find out the charter bus driver had been turned down by at least one doctor when he tried to get his medical card.
In addition, Plaintiff was able to determine the charter bus driver was not keeping an accurate log book. Another violation of the FMCSR.
The charter bus company settled the case for $2 million after an unsuccessful mediation, but before trial. “This case was like a giant puzzle. We tracked evidence down throughout the country to prove this case. Nothing was in one place where it was supposed to be,” says John Page. “After a long battle we were able to resolve this case favorably for our client.”

Page states, “We represent Plaintiff’s living all over Missouri in serious injury and wrongful death cases. The majority of our serious injury and death cases are handled on a referral basis from other lawyers.”
